Adoption FAQs

  • All of our dogs are fully vetted prior to adoption. Unfortunately, our adoption costs are just a small fraction of what it costs to fully care for an animal before being available for adoption. Your new pup’s adoption fee includes the following:

    - All vaccinations and medical testing that are age appropriate at the time of adoption
    - Rabies vaccine (if older than 12 weeks old*)
    -Distemper & Parvovirus vaccines
    - Dewormed & fecal tested
    - Lifetime registered microchip
    - Spay/neuter (if older than 4 months old.**)
    - Heartworm tested & flea-free
    - Health Certificate to travel

  • We are a small rescue group who is ran by volunteers. Please allow us at least 3 business days to process your application and we will get back to you as soon as possible! We encourage you to follow up if you have not heard from us within 3 business days. Please note that we are not a first come first serve rescue. No meet and greets will be scheduled until you have gone through the adoption application & have been approved.

  • Our rescues come from all over the globe, and their final destinations are here in Colorado. Our rescue runs solely on donations and adoption fees to continue to help as many dogs as we are able. Because our dogs do come from all different backgrounds (young, old, domestic transfers, international transfers, etc….), we must ensure they are healthy prior to adoption and also spayed/neutered (if of age*) to break the cycle of unwanted litters and pet overpopulation. The average spay/neuter cost here in the Denver area is between $250-$450 just in itself! Together, we can stop the pet overpopulation.

  • No, we do not have a shelter or facility. We are a foster-based rescue, which means our pups go into local foster homes prior to being available for adoption.

  • Our rescue group focuses mostly on dogs in Texas, New Mexico, southern Colorado, and dogs from the dog meat trade over in China. We work with a variety of shelters and rescue partners to help as many dogs as we are able. Once healthy to travel, our pups come to Denver to find their forever homes.

  • As a small rescue, we are limited with our resources and have the ability to transport dogs into Colorado from Texas and New Mexico, but not to other states. While we do occasionally allow out of state adoptions, the individual who adopts would still need to go through the adoption process (just as you would if you lived in Colorado) and they would be required & responsible to arrange transport out of Colorado to wherever the new home would be. We do not organize transport for you if you are approved to adopt out of state.

  • We do! We mostly do private meet and greets so that we can be in a more controlled and relaxed environment, but you will occasionally see us at some events with a few pups that you’d be able to meet! Please note that even if you do swing by to say hello/meet a dog, you will still need to go through our adoption process, be approved, and have a successful meet and greet prior to any adoption being finalized.

  • Please note that filling out an application does NOT mean you have been approved for adoption. We will review the applications and if we feel you are a good fit for the dog you are interested in, we will move forward with the adoption process. If we feel you are a great fit for an adopter, but just not for that specific dog, we will keep your application on file for future rescue pups needing homes.

We will check your references, and once we feel you would make a great fit, we will schedule a phone screening. If approved to move forward, we will schedule a home check/meet and greet. Please note that just because you would have a meet and greet, you are NOT approved for adopting that dog. We have a strict policy for which dog ends up being adopted by which family. We are NOT a first come, first serve rescue. Meaning, if you are the very first person to apply, this does not mean you are a match. Our mission is to find each of our dogs their perfect home & we request you respect that.
